  • Are the classes suitable for beginners?
The classes are catered to all levels whether you have never done anything like this before or have been training for 10 plus years there is something for everyone.

  • Do I need to be fit or flexible in order to do capoeira?
No. All this can be achieved through training. You don't need to be in shape to start training.

  • Is there an age limit?
No. Capoeira caters for all ages and shapes and sizes. Mestre Suassuna the founder of our group Cordão de Ouro still trains capoeira and he is almost 80 years old!

  • Will I learn acrobatics?
You will have an opportunity to learn different capoeira acrobatic movements as well as other things like music, martial art movements, dance and Portuguese.

  • What are the benefits of capoeira?
Benefits include weight loss, increased strength and flexibility, agility, an awareness of Brazilian culture and Portuguese, stamina, spatial awareness, confidence and last but not least a sense of community and friends for life.

  • What do I need to bring to my first class?
If it is recommended you wear loose light and comfortable clothing such as tracksuit or sports training kit that you can move in. You may also want to bring a water bottle to hydrate yourself throughout the class and a towel.
